BUFFALOES & ROYALS

2021-2022 SEASON

U13 AA is on the move!  Effective 2021-2022 U13 AA will transition to the Elite stream. Each Elite Association (Buffaloes, Northstars, Northwest, and Royals) will roster three (3) evenly balanced teams within their program.  This change aligns Hockey Calgary with the remainder of the province. For more information contact your Elite Association based on your community listing below.

Players in U13, U15, U16 and U18 are eligible to try out for "ELITE" hockey. The community you live in determines if you will register with the Calgary Buffaloes or the Calgary Royals Association. If you choose to register with your Elite Association then you also MUST register with Southwest.

"When using the Southwest website to register, choose the 'Elite Tryout' option for your age group. No deposit fee is required until we receive confirmation that the participant has been released by the Elite team, and is returning to Southwest. If the participant is released, 50% of the Southwest registration fee must be paid prior to the participant's first skate with Southwest, with the balance due by October 1st. For payment arrangements contact the SW Registrar at registrar@southwesthockey.ca . Important: If a participant who is trying out for Elite; is not also registered with Southwest, and the participant is released from Elite tryouts --- registration with SW will be based on availability, and a late registration fee will also apply.
