The Team Manager is a key member of the team leadership group and serves as the primary link between the team, coaches, Southwest Hockey, and Hockey Calgary.
Team Managers are responsible for ensuring off-ice administrative tasks are completed and for coordinating parent volunteers throughout the season. It is important to stay connected with your families and follow up to ensure responsibilities are being fulfilled.

COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL
Team Managers / teams should not be contacting Hockey Calgary staff directly, unless otherwise directed to by Southwest Hockey.
Southwest Hockey and Hockey Calgary have established multiple levels of support to assist with questions, conflict resolution, and operational guidance. Team Managers are expected to follow the organizational chain of communications / support pathway.

DIVISION COORDINATORS
Southwest Hockey has Division Coordinators across all age groups; U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U18.
Division Coordinators are the primary support resource for Team Managers and Coaches. Their role is to provide guidance regarding SHA policies, HCAL regulations, and operational procedures.

HOCKEY CALGARY LEAGUE CHAIRS
League Chairs are official Hockey Calgary volunteers responsible for supervising and directing the conduct of teams, managers, coaches, participants and spectators within their assigned jurisdiction. League Chairs have the authority to rule on matters involving Hockey Calgary Rules and Regulations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support teams within specific age group/tier.
- Communicate directly with Team Managers and Head Coaches regarding operations.
- Provide rulings related to game-play regulations and mandatory suspensions.
- Distribute Hockey Calgary information relevant to their assigned age group/tier.
HOCKEY CALGARY GOVERNORS
Governors are official Hockey Calgary volunteers responsible for supervising League Chairs within their assigned division. Governors have the authority to rule on matters involving Hockey Calgary Rules and Regulations.
Team leadership is requested to work with their appointed League Chair before escalating matters to a Governor.

- Provide oversight for League Chairs within an age group division
- Report directly to Hockey Calgary management on behalf of their assigned division.
- Communicate directly with teams when necessary.
MANAGER MEETINGS
There are two (2) different pre-season MANDATORY meetings: Southwest Meetings are held in-person and Hockey Calgary Meetings are held online.
MANAGER ROLE
The role of the Team Manager is an integral part of a successful team. You are the conduit between the team, the coaches, the Association and Hockey Calgary League Chairs.
